Third Annual Psychology Research Symposium Hosted by Psi Chi

The 3rd Annual Research Symposium hosted by Psi Chi at the Michigan School of Professional Psychology will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.  This year’s topic for the symposium is The Intersection of Psychology and Neuroscience. We are pleased to announce Dr. Sean Callan, PhD as keynote speaker.

Dr. Sean Callan is a recent graduate of Wayne State University’s Department of Psychology, where he achieved a Masters in Psychology and a PhD in Psychology with a major in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience with a minor in statistics. Dr. Callan’s research interests focus mainly in the area of addiction, specifically using behavioral neuroscience techniques to understand mechanisms behind clinically relevant issues. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Wayne State University’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, where he uses molecular neuroscience techniques to study the effects of methamphetamine on the brain. Aside from research, Dr. Callan enjoys teaching and is currently an adjunct instructor in the PsyD program at MISPP.

Submissions for posters and panels are due by Monday, April 17, 2017 and can be submitted here.

Research symposium submission topics may include: neuropsychology, multicultural issues, health psychology, neuropsychology, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, race, culture, religion, and psychological assessment, among others.
